Overview
The Capacity Building Pillar aims to build the skills needed to succeed as an STM professional. The pillar seeks to create opportunities and support activities that promote professional development in the field of STM, especially among the next generation of experts and early-to-mid-career professionals. WiST provides a platform to champion emerging STM leaders by encouraging partners to employ inclusive recruitment to a diverse pool of candidates and improve promotion of aspiring women leaders. Furthermore, the pillar identifies opportunities to partner with other initiatives and programs to expand WiST’s reach and accelerate skills development.

The WiST Intercessional Webinar Series support engagement between larger, annual events and feature relevant STM topics and case studies of best practices and lessons learned. The webinar series provide a platform to build a community of practice and facilitate networking within the region. WiST identifies and leverages fellowship programs with a proven track record of building a cadre of STM professionals.
